New 2023 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport, Features, Interior – By removing the Pure and Signature trims from the 2023 Q50 model lineup, Infiniti is reducing the number of options available to customers. The Sensory trim, which was introduced last year, includes many of the features of the Signature at a much lower price. Optional Saddle Brown leather, open-pore wood trim, and an upgraded climate control system are among the features. In addition to the standard leather upholstery, power-adjustable steering column, power-folding exterior mirror with automatic reverse tilt-down, memory settings for both front occupants’ seats, the steering wheel, and mirror positions, and power lumbar adjustment for the driver, this year’s base Luxe trim includes a premium 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system. All trims now have wireless Apple CarPlay.
The Q50 sedan’s design has remained unchanged for 2023. Even though the Q50 is an attractive and well-built vehicle, we’re not going to complain about it. The front and back of the vehicle feature LED fog lights and headlights with LED technology. Molded fenders give the Q50 a sensual appearance, while a chrome window surround on most derivatives adds a dash of flair. Decklid spoilers and a faux diffuser are included as standard on the rear end, which features an upward-facing trunk lid. Much of the chrome has been replaced with gloss black, but carbon fiber is also an option, and this model has sporty red exhaust tips. All trims come standard with a power moonroof. Luxury rides on 18-inch alloys while the two top trims have 19-inch wheels.
Sadly, the Q50’s interior is another disappointment. Leather upholstery and average legroom are standard features in the base model, which is true for all models. In addition, the Q50’s analog dials look out of place with the rest of the market’s digital instrument clusters. The dual-screen infotainment system is an attempt at modernity and innovation, but it is not very refined and can be difficult to operate. If nothing else, passengers in the first row have plenty of legroom and comfortable seats. Aside from a few minor flaws, it’s clear that this car wasn’t built to German standards.
The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine found in every Q50 model is so powerful that there is no model that is slow. There is a lot of power for a base model with 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Fortunately, the power isn’t buried deep in the engine’s rpm range, and the throttle response is excellent even at low speeds. You can confidently overtake on the freeway in any gear, even when starting from a stop at a traffic light. Turbocharged V6s like this one sound good, but the sound of an Alfa Romeo Giulia QV is naturally more exotic. The Red Sport 400 may have the strangest name around, but with 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, it’ll be difficult to find many other cars in this segment that can keep up. However, rivals such as the BMW M340i and Audi S4 are more lively and feel faster than their figures indicate, making this comparison less than ideal. The Q50 isn’t slow or sluggish, but its German rivals are unquestionably more refined. All models come standard with a seven-speed automatic transmission, but only the Sensory or Red Sport trims come with steering-mounted paddle shifters that can be used to shift gears.
Release Date and Price
The luxe model in the Q50’s 2023 price range costs $42,100 before the $1,025 shipping and handling fee. The Sensory model, which starts at $47,800, is the next tier down in price. A starting price of $55,950 is charged for this model, which is the Red Sport 400. All trims come standard with AWD for a $2,000 fee.
